How To Make Money With Affiliate Programs

Posted by admin on Jul 18 2009 | Affiliate Revenue

Affiliate programs can either be a way to put a little extra cash in your pocket or, hopefully, become a full time job. However, it’s not like you can put up a bunch of affiliate links and expect to start making a mint. If you want to make a full time job’s worth of money off affiliate marketing, you have to work at it full time. The great thing about affiliate marketing is that it works 24/7—but this doesn’t mean you should also put in several hours a day of your own time.

The affiliate marketers who have had the most outstanding success are normally those who have more than one site working at once. It’s much harder to make a decent amount of money if you have one affiliate site at a time. Experienced affiliate marketers will have a number of different sites running at once, all with different types of affiliate links. What this means is that each affiliate site will need separate SEO: new content in the form of blogs, forums, articles, and other techniques.

A key to a successful affiliate marketing program is to make the affiliate site a useful resource. Just posting a bunch of links is not going to impress many web surfers. They’ll leave and likely never come back. The trick to any web business is to keep people on site—this is true for the affiliate partner and it’s true for affiliate marketers. An affiliate site shouldn’t necessarily scream, “affiliate site.” Instead, it can be a trusted resource on a particular topic.

Useful content is the best way to make this possible. Take a site that has a number of links to sports-related businesses (apparel, equipment, tickets, books, etc.). The affiliate marketer can then set up a forum that talks about different sports teams, strategy, and so on—potentially, this forum could bring in sports fans from across the country. Blogging is another great medium for affiliate marketing. On the same site, the blogger could write reviews of new equipment or write in depth trade talk about a variety of sports. These are just a few ideas but they show how affiliate marketing can—and should—be a serious, long-term proposition.

What it comes down to is that affiliate marketing is no different than running the host site. Both are about running a business, even if an affiliate marketer has no direct product or service to sell. An affiliate marketer should set up a site that is useful and informative—a destination that people will come back to again and again. In some cases, an affiliate site might even be more informative than the partner’s website.

Only until these issues are covered can an affiliate marketer hope to make a good amount of money with affiliate marketing. Sure, you could put up links and hope for the best, but you should think about investing some time into the site if you really hope to turn a respectable profit.

Why So Many Fail to Make Money With Ebooks

Posted by admin on May 14 2009 | E-Books

Look at your life. Think about the things you dreamed of doing when you were a child and growing up. How many of those things have you actually done? If you’re anything like me, then it’s a difficult truth to accept… but odds are we’ve all left a lot of things on the drawing board. Ideas that we’ve had, vacations we wanted to take, people who we wanted to meet. The list can go on and on, and it’s uniquely personal for all of us. The reason why so many people fail to make money with eBooks is because they just haven’t gotten around to actually creating and selling one.

You’re probably thinking that there must be some other explanation. I’ve spoken with hundreds of people over the past 24 months. All of them aspiring eBook publishers. Want to know a startling fact? Only a handful have ever created their first title and started selling it. You might really be wondering how this could be possible. There are a lot of factors. For example, some people want to start an eBook publishing business but don’t have the time. Others desire the end result of wealth and freedom but don’t have the discipline or desire to put in the effort.

If you’re thinking about starting an eBook publishing business, here’s some advice. Begin with an end in mind. In other words, if you want to make $500 per month, then really focus on what that would mean to you. Maybe it means going out to dinner, or paying off bills. With some effort and focus, you can be one of the handful of people who actually make money in this business.

Quickly Making Money With Ebooks

Posted by admin on May 13 2009 | E-Books

I was watching TV a few nights ago when I received a phone call from a friend. Lately, it seems, a lot of my friends are interested in making money online. For most, it’s a way to earn some extra cash to help make ends meet. For others, it’s a desire to eventually quit their jobs. The friend who called me had some news to share. He had made his first sale. I wasn’t surprised. We had spoken at a party the previous weekend and I shared with him a simple strategy for making some quick money on the Internet. It revolved around publishing a short eBook (about 40 pages) compiled from public domain materials and then buying some inexpensive advertising to promote the product. It worked, as planned.

There are three things you need to understand if you want to make money in this business:

The first is that if you sell what people are already interested in and buying, the odds of making money quickly go up dramatically. In other words, give people what they’re looking for. It doesn’t matter if you’re not personally interested in the subject.

The second factor is advertising. You need to tell people that your product exists. There’s no way you can make money on the Internet unless you can get the word out about what you’re trying to sell. That makes sense, right?

The third and final factor is getting people to buy what you’re selling. My simple formula for this is to tell them what you’ve got, tell them what it will do for them, and then tell them how to buy what you’re selling. Wash, rinse, repeat. That’s one approach to quickly making money on the Internet.
